Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Need to Know
Leaving your pet with a stranger is never an easy decision, and I’m sure you have a lot of questions about how it works. I’ve compiled some of the most common questions into the list below. If you want further information, just get in touch.
How many dogs can you walk at once?
Through my insurance I am allowed to walk up to six dogs at a time although I aim to only walk four dogs at a time to make the walks more interactive and personal. The Animal Welfare Act 2006 likewise only recommends that dog walkers only walk 4 dogs at a time.
How will you control dogs while you are walking them?
All dogs will be kept on leads while they are being walked for their safety and for the safety of others in the local area.
Will you visit me and my pets before agreeing to care for them?
Prior to agreeing to care for any pets or walk any dogs I will visit your home to meet you and your pets so that we may become familiar with each other, agree upon what will be involved in your pets care and for your to fill out your pets health and fitness questionnaire.
How much will you cost and how do I pay?
Please refer to the prices tab of the website to see my price list.
There are discounts available for people who require a regular dog walker and would like to book a block of walks.
Prices for holiday home pet care will be discussed during consultation and while plans are being confirmed.
Payment must be provided before any services can be delivered.
My pet needs to go to the vet. Will you take them?
Taking your pet to the vet will be considered depending on prior discussion and consultation before the appointment date. A letter of agreement to treatment must also be signed before taking your pet to the vet and you will also be required to inform your vet that I will be taking your pet in place of yourself.
If necessary I will seek emergency veterinary advice.
Do you have experience with rare or exotic pets?
I have experience with a variety of animals. Prior to any agreement to care for pets I will complete a full consultation to ensure that I know all of your pets specific needs.
